African Rainbow Minerals Limited (ARM) is a diverse South African Mining Company, with it’s African assets held in a joint venture with Vale. African Rainbow Minerals was created in 2004, when the merger transaction with Avmin, ARMI and Harmony was completed.

African Rainbow Minerals Limited (ARM) owns platinum and coal, as well as ferrous and base metals operations. Through its shareholding in Harmony, it also holds a significant interest in the gold mining sector.
ARM Platinum Mining Operations:
- Modikwa Platinum Mine – underground mine, 15 kilometres north west of Burgersfort, along the border between the Mpumalanga and Limpopo provinces, 41.5% economic stake, 55% economic interest
- Two Rivers – underground mine, located near the town of Steelpoort, in Mpumalanga,
- Nkomati Mine – 300 kilometres east of Johannesburg, in the Machadodorp area of the Mpumalanga province, 50:50 joint venture with Norilsk Nickel Africa (Pty) Ltd, unincorporated
- Kalplats PGM Project – two joint ventures with Platinum Australia (PLA), 330 kilometres west of Johannesburg, in the North West Province
